Enrichment Writing
Math
Last week, students worked on Chapter 9(Algebra: Relationships Between Variables). They practiced problem solving through analyzing relationships and finding patterns. They also took a mid-chapter quiz. Students then focused on graphing relationships and writing equations that expressed the relationship between quantities. There were three homework assignments: page 507(2-5)/page 508(1-6), page 515(2-6)/page 516(1-6), and page 521(2-6)/page 522(1-6).
This week students will be reviewing Chapter 9 and preparing for the state assessment (M-STEP). Because of the state assessment, students will not be taking the Chapter 9 test this week.
Enrichment Math
Last week, students practiced a number of concepts including probability and geometry. This week, students will continue to practice concepts involving probability and geometry.
Social Studies
Science
Thank you to all of the 6th graders who helped at Science Night. You were a big help.
Spring Dune Grass Harvest Day is scheduled for May 7 (weather permitting). We will be collecting grass just like we did in the fall to help stop coastal erosion around the U.S.
We will need parent helpers again if you are able to join us for a couple hours or the whole day that would be great. We will also need donations of chips, plates, and cookies/treats. Subway lunch and drinks are provided for the kids.
Science Class: Students are finishing up their Amusement Park Projects where they had to apply their learned knowledge on motion. This week we will look at trajectory, arc, angles, and force as they will compete in the Katniss Everdeen Challenge!
