First Day of School Procedures
We are very much looking forward to the first day of school. Starting at 7:55 AM for grades 1st-5th, students will come directly into the building. Parents will need to remain outside. If you are planning on walking your child up to the building, you'll need to park in the parking lot or on the street where allowed. Do not park your vehicle in the drop-off lane.
The first day of school always looks a little different. Please read the following details for the first day. We are simply trying to manage first-day chaos while keeping the safety of all students and staff in mind.
Students in the 1st and 2nd grades will meet at the main entrance of the school building. This is door number 1. Students in 3rd and 4th grades will meet outside of door 14, this is the entrance on the south side near the gym. 5th Grade students will meet outside of door 10.
Beginning of the 2nd day of school all K-5 students will meet outside of the main entrance weather permitting. Walking Club starts at 7:55. Please do not drop off children before 7:50.
Kindergarten doesn't start the first day until 9:00 AM, so please wait until 8:50 AM to arrive. Kindergarten teachers will be outside. On the 2nd day of school Kindergarten students will meet outside of the main entrance to get started with Walking Club.
Preschool teachers will also meet the students outside near the preschool entrance(door number 2). Morning students shouldn't arrive before 8:20 and afternoon students shouldn't arrive before 12:20.
Drop Off and Pick Up Procedures - All Students (K-5) will be dropped off at the front of the building
- Students should begin exiting vehicles once the vehicle has pulled as far forward as possible
- Staff will be outside to assist with drop off and pick up, please pay attention to signals on where to pull up and when to move forward
- Drivers are to stay inside the vehicle at all times in the drop-off/pick-up lane
- Students should enter and exit the vehicle curbside
- Students should use the crosswalk to cross to the parking lot. They should never cross in front of traffic in the drop-off lane.
- Please wait your turn in line and do not cut the line to make a drop-off or to pick them up (everybody is here for the same goal and same reason, please be mindful and respectful of that)
- If your child is unable to unbuckle/buckle themselves, please practice at home. This is a skill they need to be able to do independently.
- Please be patient and a positive role model for our children. These procedures are in place to help maintain a safe and respectful environment.
- It is unlawful to park in a handicap stall without proper licensing.
- For safety purposes, pets are not allowed to be brought at the beginning or ending of the school day. Pets, even when on a leash, can become excited and frighten students.

Please make sure to share this with anybody who may be dropping off and/or picking up your children.

School Messenger Alert System
EPS and individual buildings use a parent messaging system called SchoolMessenger to send emails, phone calls, and text messages to parents sharing district information, monthly updates about building happenings, and weather-related school closings. To ensure receipt of these updates, please verify that all contact information listed in your parent PowerSchool account, including phone numbers and email addresses, is correct.
Additionally, this system allows recipients to “unsubscribe” from its mailing list; however, please understand that by “unsubscribing” you are completely removing your email address and phone number from both District and building lists. If you choose to Unsubscribe, you will not receive any communication from your child’s assigned school or the EPS district. If you accidentally unsubscribe or decide you would like to begin receiving emails again after unsubscribing, contact your building secretary to change your communication status.

Visitor Guidelines
Visitor Guidelines
At Arbor View as well as all school buildings, the doors will remain locked during the school day, and all visitors will gain access using the security camera/access panel outside of the school’s main entrance. Office staff will grant access after you do the following steps:
Push the button and wait for an identification request.
Give your name and purpose for entering the school.
When you hear the door unlatch, enter and proceed to the office.
Sign in on the visitor sheet and take a visitor sticker/badge.
When leaving the building, return to the office and sign out and place your sticker in the trash can.
If you have brought something that your child has forgotten, please drop it off at the office, we will be happy to take it to your child. We appreciate your cooperation in helping us to minimize classroom interruptions.
