What We Are Learning
ELA
- analyze, make inferences and draw conclusions about the author's purpose in cultural, historical, and contemporary contexts and provide evidence from the text to support their understanding. identify the details or facts that support the main idea
-draw conclusions from the facts presented in text and support those assertions with textual evidence
-identify explicit cause and effect relationships among ideas in textsMath
- determine the solutions to problems involving addition and subtraction of time intervals in minutes using pictorial models or tools such as a 15 minute event plus a 30 minute event equals 45 minutes
Begin Weight and Mass
- determine when it is appropriate to use measurements of liquid volume (capacity) or weight; and
-determine liquid volume (capacity) or weight using appropriate units and tools.
Science
Observe and describe the physical characteristics of environments and how they support populations and communities within an ecosystem.
Identify and describe the flow of energy in a food chain and predict how changes in a food chain affect the ecosystem such as removal of frogs from a pond or bees from a field
Describe environmental changes such as floods and droughts where some organisms thrive and others perish or move to new locations.
Social Studies
- explain the concept of a free market as it relates to the U.S. free enterprise system.
- identify examples of how a simple business operates
- explain how the cost of production and selling price affect profits
- identify individuals, past and present, including Henry Ford and other Wallace Amos, Milton Hershey, and Sam Walton, who have started new businesses
Be On The Lookout!!
It is time for our annual campus survey. The survey will be available from March 22 - April 12 and will go out to all staff and parents. This is different from the district survey that was available in February. This survey is specific to the performance of our campus. Please watch for an email with the link to completing the survey. ALL feedback is valuable!
