Thank You to PTA President, Dawn Matta:
Matta, for the terrific job she has done over the past year. Dawn has made
many changes and improvements for our school, big and small, but all have
been valuable. Dawn has spent a lot time and energy on one project in
particular, a covered walkway to the 3rd and 4th grade cabanas. After Dawn
sent out a survey in the fall asking parents and staff what they would like
to see from the PTA, the number 1 choice was a covered walkway and she has
been working to make this a reality for our students. The PTA will continue Dawn's efforts in the next school year to complete this project.
Dawn, thank you so much for your dedication to our school over the years. In addition to President, Dawn has been the bookfair chair, Intervention chair 3-5, and volunteered her time on many other PTA events and projects. We wish you and your family all the best as you move on to West Lake Middle.
Sincerely, your PTA BOD, MCES staff, students and parents.

some co chair positions (i.e. Boosterthon, Go Save Play, nominating committee, Spelling Bee, and Science Olympics). A Co Chair position is a great way to pitch in while learning "the ropes" from an experienced chair. Please contact AnnMarie Marchese at annmariemarchese@gmail.com
Cultural Arts
In May and June, Fifth Grade students will work with environmental artist, Bryant Holsenbeck, to create their own 3-dimensional animal art piece from recycled materials. If you have plastic bags, remnant fabrics, old sheets, curtains or castaway yarns or ribbon, please consider donating them. The materials may be dropped off at any 5th grade classroom.

New families may complete a request for service when they enroll for school.
New families must sign up approximately one month prior to the start of the school year to receive first day service.
If your child is currently not riding the bus, is eligible for transportation and wants to ride the bus next year, you may request transportation for them online starting May 30 at www.wcpss.net.
