March 16-20
Week At A Glance
Principal's Corner- Tim McCormick
Dear parents/guardians and students,
Attached at the bottom of this newsletter is a spreadsheet (click on the download icon) that illustrates times each day when teachers and support staff will be available for daily student communication and/or support. Teachers will be communicating to their classes/students through Google classroom; NPS student email; utilizing video lessons, and uploading any additional information that is pertinent at this time.
For those students and families who do not have consistent internet access, we will have a second "packet pick up" days on on Tuesday, March 24th from both 8-10 am and 3-5 pm. Students will also have access to the food pantry at NHS if needed. Additionally, students will be allowed to access their lockers while music students will be allowed to pick up their instruments during these scheduled blocks of time.
As a reminder, If you are sick, you should NOT leave your home except to seek medical care. BEFORE YOU DO THAT, please read the CDC guidelines for what to do when you are sick: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/if-you-are-sick/steps-when-sick.html. Students who cannot access their learning online or attend one of the scheduled pick up days should contact the main office at 508-234-6221.
We will continue to update all students and families throughout this closure as new and important information is made available. Thank you again for your continued understanding and flexibility during these difficult times.

STUCO Update
Our council had the opportunity to hear from other schools about the events and programs they implement throughout the year, and also got to share out about what we do here at Northbridge High School. The students ended the trip with a formal banquet and dance put on by Club T. Our council came back inspired and energized, with many new ideas we hope to bring to our school and community in the future.
NHS Science Fair- Pat Rossi
On March 10th, the Northbridge High School science department held their annual Science fair. Students from grades 9-12 were able to compete against one another in either the experiment division or the invention division. There were over 100 projects that were on display. There were some amazing projects and presentations that inspired some of our professional judges from local universities and engineering companies. Some students have been offered opportunities to continue their research further alongside our professionals in their labs or companies. The projects that were awarded either 1st, 2nd, 3rd place, honorable mention, and our student choice award have qualified to compete at the SWCL regional science fair that will now be held sometime in June. During the event there is also a section of student judges that is coordinated and run by Chloe Frabotta. She has meticulously organized the student judges to ensure an extremely thorough and fair process for all.
