FROM Nurse Jimenez
To 6th grade parents,
In order to comply with entry requirement for 7th Grade, students will be required to have the following immunizations:
Tdap (diphtheria, tetanus and pertussis)
Meningococcal (Must clearly indicate: MCV4, Menveo, Menactra)
Please make sure you review your child’s immunization records. I will be putting monthly reminders in your student’s backpack if I do not have documentation of the required immunizations. Please provide this documentation ASAP.
Students cannot start 7th grade without these immunizations. Tdap and meningococcal vaccine for all 6th graders going to 7th grade will be due by May 12, 2023. You may send your updated shot record to veronica.jimenez@allenisd.org.
Thank you for your attention on this matter.

Character Trait:
The Character Trait for the month of January is Determination
Determination is deciding it is worth finishing what you started. We all know that overwhelming feeling of being at the beginning of a huge project—homework, room cleaning, or home renovations, just to name a few. It can be discouraging. It does require hard work, encouragement, but most importantly, you must have the never give up attitude, you have to have grit! And when you get to the end and see your accomplishments, it’s totally worth it!
Learn this great lesson together as a family this month by setting up a complicated jigsaw puzzle, or create a project that the family can do together. Work on it throughout the month, as a family, and don’t give up until it’s finished!
