6-3 Update
November 2019
Progress Reports
Progress Reports for the second nine weeks came out last week. If you did not receive yours - paper or electronic - please contact our counseling department at lfranklin@k12k.com. We can get one to you, or give you the information you need to sign up for an electronic copy.
Pencils and Chromebooks
Encourage your student to have sharpened pencils and charged computers (we lose class time daily supplying students with supplies) Coming to class unprepared makes it hard to get started on assignments. Thanks!
Winter Coats
Winter Gear Collection - Drop off new or gently used winter gear (coats, gloves, scarves, toboggans, blankets, etc.) in the Counseling Center, now through Nov. 25.
De-stress
This time of year can add unnecessary stress, even on students. VIDA yoga and the Community Collective will be coming to our school on Friday mornings from 7:00 to 7:30 a.m. to do yoga in the small gym. It is open to all students
Supplies for SOLDIERS
November 1-22, Student Council, in coordination with Eastman, will be collecting SUPPLIES for SOLDIERS. Some of the items they need are listed below:
- stick deodorant
- toothbrushes and paste
- baby wipes
- foot powder
- chap-stick
- flip-flops
- Kleenex
- Ziploc bags
- beef jerky
- notepads and pens
- sunglasses
- protein bars and sun-dried fruit
- batteries
- ground coffee, not beans
- flash drives
If you want a printed list, please ask your child's first period teacher.
Social Studies
Test on Israel Friday, November 22. Please check Power School to make sure your student's work is up-to-date and submitted.
ELA Update
Students have been working on several assignments leading them up to their next assessment - writing an original creepy tale. This will be a test grade, and they will begin working on it in the coming days.
Students shouldn't have much ELA homework, but if students have unfinished classwork, it is considered homework. Please check over your students Google Classroom assignments and tasks. Journals can come home to share at any point, but need to be returned. We use them daily in class. Power School is a wonderful tool to utilize as a family, as it is a real-time grade book.
Thanks!
Math Update
We have started a new unit on Integers this week. We are in great need of pencils and line paper.
Thank you for your continued support.
Science Update
Science Benchmark is Monday.
We also need more yarn for our holiday craft.
