iPad & Laptop Storage Over the Summer - New Information
Students currently in grade 6 will be turning in their District-issued laptop towards the end of the school year, as new devices will be issued to them during an August handout for middle school. We will also be collecting iPads for grades K-2 prior to the end of school.
Students in grades 3-5 will keep their District-issued laptops at home over the summer. While students are allowed to use their devices at home over the summer, it is important that those devices are stored at home in a safe place where they are protected from damage, as the devices will return to school with students when school starts at the end of August.
We will communicate more information about the collection as we near the end of the school year.
Thank you for your support!

Coins for the Classroom!
This week we are collecting some cash for the outdoor classroom!
We are so fortunate and excited to be the host for an Eagle Scout Project this summer. Former Soaring Eagle, Hannah Wood, will be earning her Eagle Scout by building an outdoor classroom behind our school. The classroom will consist of benches and an outdoor instructional board. She hopes that this will be a place for students to find a love for nature, take a break from screen time, and enjoy outdoor lessons.
Part of this project involves some fundraising to help build the project, and Hannah has created Coins/Cash for the Classroom to help with some of the costs. During the week of 5/23 to 5/26, students are asked to bring in some coins or bills to donate to this worthy cause. The class with the most donations will be awarded a water ice party!
Please see the attached flyer for details!
We appreciate your support for our school and a former Soaring Eagle!

DHSA UPDATES & EVENTS
Gardeners Wanted
Doyle Family Gardeners,
Please consider spending some time in the Doyle Garden helping to prepare the beds for planting. Students in second grade have already started the project by growing seedlings in QUEST. The seedlings will hopefully provide some tasty snacks on STEAM Day. Bring some gardening tools when you come and turn over a bed.
Families can sign up to work on the garden during after school hours or on the weekend.
6th Grade Promotion at 6:00 PM on June 7th.

Free and Reduced Lunch
Dear Central Bucks families,
School breakfast and lunch has been available for Central Bucks School District students at no cost since March 2020. Reimbursement for the cost of providing these meals has come through a United States Department of Agriculture Waiver issued to the Pennsylvania Department of Education. This waiver suspended free and reduced lunch eligibility requirements, allowing for universal participation in the National School Lunch Program. The waiver is expected to expire at the end of June.
In anticipation of this, we wish to remind families of the following:
- Eligible families are strongly encouraged to apply for free and reduced lunches. Families may apply through an online application that is safe, secure, and private. Visit cbsd.org/freeandreduced for details. All children in households eligible for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) or Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) benefits are eligible for free meals. If you have questions about your family’s eligibility, please send email to Renee Ziccardi at rziccardi@cbsd.org or contact your school nurse.
- When the waiver expires, students may again purchase lunch, a la carte items, or snacks through their MySchoolBucks account. Now is a good time to log on, bring your child’s account up to date if money is owed, and update expired payment information. Review frequently asked questions about school lunch accounts on our website. Your child will not be able to utilize their account to purchase a la carte items or snacks if it is past due. If you have questions about your child’s account, or if you believe the balance information is inaccurate, please contact Renee Ziccardi at rziccardi@cbsd.org.
Thank you for your patience and support as we return to regular food service operations.
Sincerely,
Abram M. Lucabaugh, Ed.D.
