Newsletter Addendum
Sorry! Now and then a few items are missed in the first run of the newsletter, or we get updates about upcoming information, and we have to push out a newsletter addendum! Please also refer to the original newsletter put out earlier today!
Pep Band Assignments & Charms
This Friday's away game will be our first of four Pep Band performances. A few students (and parents) have asked how they know which Pep Band they are in. The answer can be found on Charms! Once you have logged into Charms, click on the "STUDENT INFO" icon at the top of the page, and then click "PERSONAL INFORMATION." On the right side of the screen you'll see an area that lists "Primary Group" and "Other Groups." For "Primary Group," you should see SOUND OF THE WILDCATS, and next to "Other Groups," you should see a variety of ensembles (i.e. Jazz Ensemble, Concert Band) - including either Pep Band A or Pep Band B. If you do not see either Pep Band listed for your name, please contact Mr. Blackmer immediately!
While you are on Charms, please take a moment to review and update all information - both for students and parents. And please remember that the login password for Charms is the same for both students and parents! If you decide to change the password, be sure that everyone knows!
Chaperones Needed
We are in need of additional chaperones - especially for our away Pep Band games. Check to see which Pep Band your child is in, go to the Band Calendar, find the specific date that you are looking to chaperone, click the helping hand icon and then enter your information. Please remember that all parent volunteers must be pre-approved through the ADDitions process before signing-up to chaperone! Information about ADDitions can be found in this week's regular newsletter.
Tri-M Music Honor Society
The Tri-M Club is back this year! The Tri-M Music Honor Society is an international honor society for high school students. It is designed to recognize students for their academic and musical achievements, reward them for their accomplishments and service activities, and to inspire other students to excel at music and leadership. For more information, please use this link: https://nafme.org/programs/tri-m-music-honor-society/
Joining the Tri-M club is a great way to be more active in our school arts department. You will make new friends from other ensembles, participate in behind-the-scenes organization of department events, enjoy music enrichment opportunities, and be invited to Tri-M social and music events. Members of the Society earn points by participating in various Tri-M and music activities, and members who meet annual point criteria are eligible to earn a Tri-M cord to wear for graduation.
Students interested in applying MUST 1) currently be enrolled in good standing in a music class and 2) have an overall GPA of 3.0 and a music GPA of 3.5.
New and returning students must submit an application by clicking the link: https://goo.gl/forms/VEu00RJYBL23FiP42
Application deadline: TUESDAY, AUGUST 29. No late applications will be accepted.
For Returning Tri-M Members:
