Horizon Elementary School

...For All Incoming Kindergarten Students

If you have a kindergarten student this year, please complete the following paper packet and return it to the main office by August 6th. We will need one from all families (even those that registered in the Spring.) Thank you for all of your help getting our paperwork in order.

Along with the packet, please bring the following to the school office (by Aug 6):

  • (Completed registration packet)
  • A copy of your child's certified birth certificate
  • A copy of your child's immunization records

  • Proof of residency (This is only required for families new to Horizon. If older siblings attend Horizon, this is not needed.)

School Supplies

Below is a printable list of school supplies for the 20-21 school year!

Addition to list from spring: We added a water bottle for all grades. We want to make sure all of our students are safe while in school. The drinking fountains will be turned off to prevent the spread of germs. Students will be using their own water bottle during the day this school year.

Big picture
Virtual Meet Your Teacher will be August 20, 2020 from 4:00-7:00 p.m.

Teachers will have a video link on this website after August 18th. You may watch the introduction video after you know who is your student's teacher.

Students and parents may also request an appointment using PTC Fast after August 18th (on this website). While this isn't required, it gives you a chance to speak with the teacher live. Please realize these meetings will be scheduled and no longer than 5 minutes. We appreciate your promptness to the meetings. If you have conversations that will take longer than 5 minutes, please email the teacher to set up an appointment. They will be glad to meet with you. We love when parents share insights that will help us meet and understand their children's needs.

We are looking forward to this school year and have missed your students dearly! Please understand we as a school are being flexible to adjust as needed with the current pandemic. We want our world to heal. Please be patient with us as we navigate these uncharted waters together.

Meet The Principal

Welcome to Horizon Elementary School! I am excited to continue working with the amazing Horizon staff and eager to work and build strong partnerships with the families and students of our school. Learning should be fun and engaging. It is important to me that everyone who steps through our doors – teacher, students, and parents – are excited to be here! This attitude enables us to meet the challenges and curriculum goals in a positive, fun, and nurturing environment.

I have been a member of the Jerome Community and worked for Jerome School District for 23 years. While in Jerome, I have had the opportunity to be a technology teacher and guidance counselor at Jerome Middle School and a guidance counselor, IOT teacher, and Work-Based Learning Coordinator at Jerome High School. My passion is children and watching them develop their individual skills while bringing out their inner genius. I have 4 children ranging in ages from 9-19 and being a parent is the most rewarding challenge ever.

I believe every student is entitled to an equal and individualized education. Building relationships and providing structure are essential to meet this goal. In addition to a focus on student achievement and positive relationships, it is particularly important to me to make sure you and your child feel safe at school. If you ever have a concern or question about a specific situation or procedure, please do not hesitate to stop in, call, or email me to discuss any concerns or ideas. We are focusing on setting up protocols to keep all students safe during the pandemic. Thank you for all of your help following the protocols to help keep all students healthy.

We look forward to building a partnership with the Horizon families this year.
