TVUSD Schools Will Begin The 2020/21 School Year Online
Dear TVUSD Stakeholders,
As shared on Friday, Governor Newsom laid out specific criteria for the reopening of schools in California. The mandate includes that schools located in counties on the monitoring list must not physically open for in-person instruction until their county has come off the monitoring list for 14 consecutive days. Currently, 32 of the state's 58 counties are on the monitoring list. Riverside County is on the current list.
TVUSD's administrative staff provided an update and recommendation to the Governing Board on Tuesday, July 21, 2020, to begin the school year in an online learning format.
The purpose of this communication is to share with you TVUSD's Launch to Learn Plan. This plan is intended as an overview to provide assurances to our families, students, and staff, that we have detailed plans in place to meet our educational priorities for ALL students, in ALL learning formats.
We want to thank you for your patience and understanding as we continue to adjust based upon the criteria and mandates from the state and public health authorities. We also continue to evaluate and seek clarity with appropriate agencies and legal authorities regarding mandates and potential waivers, for which benchmarks and criteria have not yet been developed by the state to offer guidance to districts on qualifications. Our ultimate goal continues to be to safely return staff and students to on-campus learning.
