Hello my Parr School Family!
My name is Yesenia Ragghianti and I feel happy to be back with my Parr School Family! This is my 5th year at Parr Elementary and my 12th year as a school counselor. My job is to help your child have an academically and personally fulfilling experience as a Parr Patriot. A list of some of my responsibilities, program materials and guidance curriculum are included in this disclosure. Should you wish to preview these items or if you have any questions, please feel free to give me a call or send me an email. Thank you for the privilege to work with your child.

Comprehensive School Counseling Program Explained
Guidance Curriculum
" to HELP students develop their full educational potential, including the student’s interests and career objectives."
Responsive Services
"to INTERVENE on behalf of any student whose immediate personal concerns or problems put the student’s continued educational, career, personal, or social development at risk."
Individual Planning
"to GUIDE a student as the student plans, monitors, and manages the student’s own educational, career, personal, and social development."
System Support
"to SUPPORT the efforts of teachers, staff, parents, and other members of the community in promoting the educational, career, personal, and social development of students."
Group Counseling
In order to meet the personal needs of students, school counselors may offer support groups. School counseling support groups target social or emotional issues that are interfering with the child’s abilities to be successful in the classroom. Groups are short-term, solution focused, and psychoeducational in nature not therapeutic. The support groups meet during the school day for approximately 15-20 minutes once a week for up to a maximum of ten sessions. These groups are intended to provide a safe, confidential, and supportive setting for the students to discuss and practice behaviors that will support growth and development and their academic success. School counseling groups are not intended to be a substitute for outside counseling/therapy. Outside counseling can be on-going, therapeutic, long-term, and consistent. If you need resources regarding outside counseling, I can provide a list of providers in our area.
If a parent/guardian does not want their student to participate in a support group, written documentation of denial of services will need to be provided to the school counselor.
