Message from the Principal

Last week we started screening our Kindergarten students for the reading disability of dyslexia as required by the Missouri state statute. The other grade levels have already screened for dyslexia, but we will rescreen all students in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grades in areas that were "at risk" at the beginning of the year. Students with results showing "at risk" will receive supports and accommodations in the classroom and/or will receive interventions in the Title I Reading reading classroom. Parents will receive notification if a child is at risk or not at risk for dyslexia. All of our students will be screened a second time in the spring.

As we enter the cold and flu season please do your best to monitor your child's health and help our schools stay open by keeping sick kids at home. Our students have done an excellent job wearing masks at school and keeping a proper distance from others. It takes a team effort to keep our kids safe and healthy at this time.

We do have quite a few students leaving hats and coats behind. We do not desire to have numerous items in our lost and found this year due to current circumstances. Please place your child's name on items, so we are able to return items back to the owners quickly.

We dismiss at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 18th for Holiday break. Students will return to school on Tuesday, January, 5th, 2021.

Have a wonderful break!

Zoom vs. Google

Starting second semester our students and staff will be using google meets in place of Zoom. The Zoom app will be disabled on the student laptops. Google meet will provide our schools better safety monitoring than zoom and will offer our teachers and students the ability to video conference for instructional time.

December Leader in Me

Our students continue to work diligently to build the leadership habits from our Leader in me Framework. Our building goal this year is to get 100% of our students writing and tracking at least one academic goal and one personal goal. Our students will track their goals in a leadership notebook. During table talk at dinner time or for a car ride conversation feel free to ask you child about their goals at school.
