We have a busy few week coming up at LVMS with many opportunities for our students to participate in great school-wide events.

MONDAY, JANUARY 31ST IS THE FINAL DAY TO ORDER A YEAR BOOK. PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR SPECIFIC INFORMATION ON HOW TO ORDER!
At the end of the school day, Monday, January 31st, the OnCourse Parent Portal will re-open with finalized Marking Period 2 Grades and Comments for your student. Any questions can be directed to content area teachers or grade level Guidance Counselors.
Winter Concerts for Orchestra, Band, and Choir students are scheduled for this week. Please see section below for specific information on the scheduled events.

Tips for Making the Most out of a Report Card
For those utilizing virtual learning due to COVID-19 or exposure to COVID-19, please continue to check Google Classroom and GoGuardian daily. It is expected that everyone continues to follow the regular LVMS Daily Schedule. As a reminder, all class specific questions should be directed to the specific classroom teacher first.

VIRTUAL LEARNING: As per mandates from the NJ Department of Education, Virtual Learning opportunities are still only available to those that have been exposed to or have tested positive to COVID-19. If you are in need of a hot spot device please reach out to you student's Guidance Counselor or to Mr. Mirabella. Additionally, if you need to take advantage of the schools lunch program, please contact Stephanie Stetz.

Winter Concerts
Band, Choir, & Orchestra
This week we are looking forward to finally hosting our Winter Band, Choir, and Orchestra concerts. Our students have been working very hard and are excited to be able to perform in front of a live audience!
Concert Information:
Tuesday, February 1st: 7:00 PM - Mrs. Oppel: Band and Choir Concert
Wednesday, February 2nd: 7:00 PM - Mr. Forrestal: Orchestra Concert
If you are planning on attending, please consider the following items:
1. Please make every effort to be mindful of the number of guests that attend so that all families have the opportunity to see their performers. Seating may be limited and will be socially distanced to accommodate viewers.
2. Masks will be required by all visitors upon entrance into the building for the duration of the event.
Thank you for your cooperation and attention to these details! We look forward to the great performances from our student musicians!
Flowers for Friends
January 27th - February 9th
Sponsored by the National Junior Honors Society, Flowers for Friends is a fun way our students can let each other know they are thinking of one another. Students can purchase a flower and send a brief note along.
$1 per Flower / Note
Flowers will be sold during homeroom
(exact change suggested when purchasing)
Flowers will be delivered to recipients in Homeroom on February 10th.

All students must wear a mask for the duration of the event . Only LVMS Students permitted; must attend own grades event. Students must abide by the LVMS Code of Conduct, Dress Code, and remain at LVMS for the duration of the event.
ALL PROCEEDS WILL GO TOWARDS THE AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION
Athletics
Basketball Update:
Both Boys and Girls Basketball teams suffered tough losses in the first round of the Morris County Tournament. Both teams will have a few make-up games scheduled this week, both home and away. Coach Karlok and Coach Denny will provide additional information as the week goes on.
Spring Sports Update
2022 Spring Season - (B/G Track, Baseball, and Softball)
- Physicals Due Date - Friday, March 18th (FINAL DUE DATE)
-All student physicals MUST be received, reviewed, and approved by the district physician.
-Incomplete forms can not be approved and will impact your child’s ability to try-out for, or participate in, our sports teams.
-Please mark your calendars - FORMS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED AFTER THIS DATE!
- Tryout/Practice Start dates - Monday, April 4th (anticipated)
- End Date of Overall Season - Monday, June 6th (anticipated)

Health and Safety
COVID Activity Index Level (CALI) - As of 12/20/2021 the district received notification that our region’s CALI score transitioned to Very High (RED). As of 12/30/2021, the CDC has updated it's guidelines to reflect recommendations for "Very High" COVID-19 Levels. Please click here to view those guidelines.
Close Contact / Quarantine: Starting Tuesday, January 18th, both isolation and quarantine periods have been reduced to Five (5) full days. Day zero (0) is the first day of symptoms or if asymptomatic day zero is the day of the positive test. For close contacts, the date of exposure is considered day zero. UPDATED 1/14/22
