We appreciate your flexibility,
Nalco Ecolab Foundtion Visions for Learning Grants Recipients - Ms. Harper and Ms. Spears
I am honored to be a recipient of Nalco’s Ecolab Foundation Visions for Learning grant. It is wonderful that Nalco Visions for Learning supports new ideas and practices to strengthen teaching and learning across the state. Ms. Judy Harper, a 5th grade science teacher, received $3000 to support our outdoor science classroom. This project will allow all students (PreK-5th) to have hands-on experiences while recording observations about their discoveries. The outdoor classroom will be equip with raised flower beds for each grade level, an outdoor whiteboard for our teachers to facilitate lessons and a curriculum that will provide teachers with lessons that are aligned to our TEKS objectives.
In addition to the $3000 received for our outdoor science classroom, I received $2,535 for our new State of the Art ELA/Writing Laboratory. This will be an additional space in our building that supports our district curriculum by providing students with opportunities outside the classroom environment to practice and reinforce their English/Language Arts skills. This classroom is equip with white board tables where students can safely write their thoughts and ideas onto table tops, Hokki seating for active and healthy sitting that can be used by adults and children, an interactive whiteboard, and several games and activities that support learners in grades PreK-5th.
At Quail Valley we understand that in order to meet the needs of today’s learners, we must find innovative solutions to learning that will ensure students stay engaged and motivated to continue their discoveries. By providing our students and teachers with these additional learning spaces we can ensure we continue to inspire and equip all students to pursue futures beyond what they can imagine!
Thank you Nalco Visions for Learning for making our dreams a reality!

Message From Assistant Principal Strutton
Dear Parents,
Welcome to Quail Valley Elementary School! To ensure the safe arrival and dismissal of our students, some important information that is specific to the Quail Valley is provided in this document.
You are recognized as the most important person in your child’s educational success. Cooperation of home and school will help create a culture in which every student will be inspired to pursue intellectual excellence throughout his/her life. On behalf of the staff, I wish you a great year and look forward to seeing you and your child.
STUDENT DROP-OFF / PICK-UP PROCEDURES
The following drop-off and pick-up procedures have been established in order to assure the safety of our students. Please be courteous to other drivers and vigilant in watching out for the safety of our students.
School Hours
The first day of school is Monday, August 24, 2015. Students may be dropped off no earlier than 7:30 AM, since we do not have supervisory coverage available until that time. Students are considered tardy after 8:10 AM. Dismissal begins at 3:10 PM. Your punctuality is greatly appreciated.
Drop Off
Parents/guardians are asked to drop off students at the sidewalk only in the designated drop-off/pick-up areas that are directly in front of the school. There is no parking in these areas. You must drop your child off at the sidewalk and then move on immediately to keep traffic flowing.
Pick Up
When picking up children in the afternoon using the drive up method, you are asked to remain in your car in one of the designated pick-up areas along the sidewalk and have your child come to your car. Please do not park and leave a car unattended in a drop-off/pick-up area. If someone other than a parent/guardian will be picking-up your child, please send a note to the school indicating such. Any change in dismissal or early dismissal requires a note with parent/guardian signature.
Traffic Pattern
Pre-k-1st grade parents will stay straight and travel in front of school all the way past school and follow driveway as it curves to the right towards the back of school by the Pre-k door and outside garden. 2nd-5th grade will immediately turn right and proceed down the side of the school and follow the driveway around back of school through the teacher’s parking lot.
If you choose to carpool, please notify the school office and your child’s teacher in writing of the arrangements and the names of the adults with whom your child may be transported
We are looking forward to an amazing year!
Thank you for your partnership!
