Barack Obama was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on August 4, 1961 to Ann Durham and Barack Obama Sr. Barack attended the Columbia University and Harvard Law School where he became the first African American Editor of the Harvard law Review . He then started teaching at the University of Chicago Law School , where he married his wife Michele .

In January 2009, he was sworn in as the 44th President of the United States and the First African American President. He was reelected for a second term in November 2012
