Hello Woodcrest Families,
It has been so wonderful to see everyone back at school! This is always an exciting time of the year. Our first day back was full of smiles!
In the beginning of the school year, we always work hard to build community and establish routines as a school community. Your students have been getting to know their classmates and teachers this week. They have also been familiarizing themselves with the school-wide routines and expectations.
Arrival and dismissal
As we begin a new school year, arrival and dismissal are huge parts of the day that we have to practice in order to ensure things go smoothly. Please remember:
Doors open at 8:55 a.m. for arrival. At this time, students can have breakfast and/or go to their classroom. Please stay with your child until this time.
Dismissal begins at 3:45 p.m.
Because of our limited space, we have procedures for each grade level. Please follow the procedures for your family’s situation.
Kindergarten families with Numbers 1-75, please park in the parking lot along 76th Ave. NE next to the basketball court.
Please stand on the sidewalk holding your student’ pick-up number.
Staff will record the number and your child will be notified by their homeroom teacher to exit the building.
Your child will meet you at the sidewalk.
All other Kindergarten families (Numbers 76+) and Grade 1 families, use the main parking lot.
Please stand on the sidewalk holding your student’s pick-up number.
Staff will record the number and your child will be notified by their homeroom teacher to exit the building.

Students who walk to and from school:
Staff will be available to students to ensure safe travel to and from school.
With a little practice, I am confident we will master arrival and dismissal!
We end the week with a special event on Saturday, September 10. The Panther Foundation and Community Education is hosting a “Start Your Engines” event at Spring Lake Park High School parking lot. All are welcome! See the newsletter for more information. I hope your family can make it - there will be big trucks, food trucks and automobiles!
Have a great week!
