Lions that Roar by Writing

Ms. Cooper's Writing Class

About Ms. Cooper

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce my self. My name is Brandi Cooper and I am an English Language Arts Educator. It is a pleasure to spend my second year of teaching on this wonderful campus and with all of the educators and staff. I am very excited to welcome you and your student into our writing class.

I studied at the University of Houston- Downtown and received my Bachelor Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies for Early Childhood Education-Sixth grades. I will be pursuing my Master of Technology in Education Degree beginning fall 2013. I have always loved learning and teaching new information.

I will spend our first week getting familiar with the daily routines of the class as well as getting to know your child. All of the students have their own unique gifts and talents and I have some ideas that I hope to bring into the classroom. It is my hope that the students benefit from this experience as much as I will.

I have four children of my own. We enjoy playing board games, going to the beach, and visiting with our family and friends. I love to cook and read. My favorite author is Nicholas Sparks. I enjoy reading his novels because they are realistic fiction and I can go to the places he takes his characters.

During the school year your student will be allowed to bring iPods, iPhones, tablets, and or any smart phone to utilize during classroom assignments. The electronics will only be allowed out during designated times for class. We will be utilizing Edmodo and Discovery Education during class for small assignments. Your student will be able to complete some assignments at home on the websites. I am extremely excited about the use of technology in the classroom.

While this letter is only a brief introduction, I invite any questions, concerns, and ideas you may have that will help your child. If you have questions at any time, please do not hesitate to contact me. I hope I will have the opportunity to meet you over the next several months, and work together with you to help your student to be successful this year.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me by email: or or via telephone campus 936-328-2051 or cell 281-761-7854.

Every week

Each week your student will bring home a homework sheet for the week with each subjects assignments. The classroom teacher may or may not add additional assignments throughout the week. As for my writing class the weekly homework will be due on Friday.
