Elkton Elementary School Memo
Distant Learning Resources for Parents/Students
May 18, 2020
Dear Parents,
During this time of uncertainty it is always nice to hear about the"good" going on in our school.
It was exciting to participate in the virtual Code of Ethics Awards Ceremony. Students from all over the valley were recognized. Our very own Eva Boone and Michael Carter were honored for their outstanding character. Both students are roll models to their peers by demonstrating positive behavior on a daily basis. EES is proud of these two students.
First grader, Brianna Rauschenberg, didn't let the school closure keep her from finishing her Genius Hour Project, a food donation. She collected lots of food items and donated them to Impact Ministries this past week. Thanks Brianna for caring about your community.
These are two examples of students doing the right thing no matter what challenges they may face.
We are working on a virtual award's program to celebrate our students. That will be coming out in a few weeks.
It seems that life as we knew it has been paused. Thank you for working with the school to make this an opportunity and not just a difficulty to be endured. Albert Einstein said, "In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity." I believe this to be true. I ask that you continue to keep grace and kindness in your hearts for our educational staff, our friends, and loved ones in healthcare and essential jobs, and our EES families that are less fortunate than others. Every person at EES has a positive outlook and has jumped in wherever they can. Our community will come out stronger in the end. Our EES family continues to be in my thoughts and heart at all times. I miss all of you so much. Please stay kind to one another, and support each other.
Take Care!
Mrs. Palmer
