Celebrating Distinction at RMSST
Student Council wins big at SASC
This weekend, the RMSST Student Council attended the Southern Association of Student Council conference in Chapin, South Carolina. We are thrilled to announce that RMSST brought home 6 awards!

Further, Trinity James was awarded the SASC Senior Scholarship Award for her outstanding leadership, service, and academics.
And to continue with the tradition of not only serving but teaching, Trinity and Prakash presented a workshop “Treat Your Teachers Right.” This workshop highlighted the many ways in which we celebrate our awesome Faculty and Staff throughout the year.
Our Student Council was the most recognized council at the conference across all schools in the 15 southeastern states with the awarding of a total of six awards at SASC.
Ambassadors tour 200+ families and eligible 8th graders
Congratulations to the Magnet Ambassadors for hosting a successful Information Night and Tours for eligible 8th graders and their families. We also appreciate all of the teachers, staff, and student volunteers who made the evening possible. Together we helped over 200 families learn about the opportunities available at RMSST.

PSAT Makeup Testing will be Tuesday, October 24th
It is very important that ALL 9th-11th grade students arrive on time Tuesday morning and have a charged RCPS laptop and charger with them. We will be taking the PSAT on Tuesday, October 24th as our make up date from the technical glitches earlier this month. Good luck to all students!
Independent Learning Day on Monday
Monday, October 23rd will be an Independent Learning day for students with assignments and other instructional materials available via Canvas.
- Students are expected to complete and submit each assignment as instructed.
- Student work must be submitted by Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at 11:59 p.m.
- Student work not submitted by October 24, 2023, at 11:59 p.m. may result in a reduction in the student’s grade.
- Attendance will be determined based on completion of assignments by the date above.
Last Chance- Wellness Summit Sign Up

Embracing Opportunities at RMSST
Furman, Georgia Tech, & Brown will visit next week!
See the list below for colleges who are set to come on campus and recruit students. All RMSST college visits occur during 5th lunch from 1:03PM - 1:30 PM. Students in class at RCHS or in need of grabbing a lunch are able obtain a pass from Ms. Harris, Ms. Lindsey, or Ms. Kabance in the front office prior to 3rd block the day of any visit.
These are information sessions that provide benefits to all 9th-12th graders. As such, Mrs. Baskett has set the expectations below for each student's participation:
- 9th graders- Attend 1 or more
- 10th graders- Attend 2 or more
- 11th graders- Attend at least 5 or as many as your schedule allows
- 12th graders- Attend at least 5 AND for every college already on your list
Students who meet the expectations by December will be entered in a raffle for 4 gift cards. Students will get a choice in what gift cards are raffled through the sign in form at each session.
Note that students are responsible for any worked missed due to attending a college visit should they not have 5th lunch. Quizzes and tests should take priority.

RMSST Reads: The 1,000 Book Challenge
- First class to 1,000 earns a popsicle dance party.
- Class with largest number of books read by April wins prize.

- 10th grade is in first place currently for the students BUT the faculty & staff are leading overall!
We will continue tracking progress on the bulletin board by the breezeway exit to the Square.

Seniors, If you didn't take pictures on October 10 at RCHS, you will need to go to one of four Cady Studios locations. All senior portraits must be taken by October 31 to guarantee inclusion in the senior section of the yearbook. Schedule your pictures today at home.cady.com
