Superintendent's Update
March 25, 2020
Dear Families:
Today during the Governor’s press conference, the State Superintendent of Schools announced that the closure of schools would continue through April 24, 2020. We are prepared to provide enhanced learning opportunities for students beyond what has been provided so far. Our goal is to provide you with a plan tomorrow evening that will include the following:
Our plan for providing direct instruction for students for the next two weeks.
Information on obtaining printed packets of work for families who do not have access to a device or a printer.
How schools are coordinating another round of Chromebook distributions.
What this new extension means for the remainder of the school year.
CCPS staff has been working diligently to prepare for the extended closure and we expect to provide new instructional material in two-week blocks. Once this set of information is published, our next set of instructional materials will be ready prior to April 13th, which will include material up to the new date for the anticipated re-opening of schools on April 27th.
I would like to thank you for your continued patience throughout this process. These have been uncertain times for all of us. As I have said before, we will continue to err on the side of our “People First” promise.
Sincerely,
Jeffrey A. Lawson, Ed.D.
