Where Excellence is the Standard -Week of October 24, 2022
Principal's Message
Dear Lion Families,
I wanted to stress to you I have visited over 100 classrooms and have been impressed with many of the activities I’ve seen happening in our classrooms. I have seen students engaged in the learning and actively participating. I see students working collaboratively and being challenged by their teachers. For most of our students, the start of the school year has been amazing. Continue working hard and focus on achieving at the highest level.
I want to take a moment to address some concerns related to school discipline. As much as I would love to say there have been no discipline issues at Randle High School, I cannot. Every school in Texas deals with discipline. Discipline ranges from minor infractions to more serious/major infractions. Major offenses such as fighting, vaping, and bullying are completely unacceptable and will not be tolerated.
Safety and security are our top priority at Randle High School and we are increasing our presence in the hallways before, during and after school. We will have more security and personnel at school activities and we will stress the importance of making good decisions and choices. We want to creating a safer environment for all.
I would like to ask that you also speak to your child about several important items.
- Bullying is unacceptable. If you See Something/Say Something: have your child notify an adult, a teacher, a counselor, or administrator if they see anything they feel may be bullying. In this weeks newsletter we have a section titled Randle Rescue with an attached QR code so that students can report incidents of bullying.
- Fighting does not solve anything. If there is an issue or someone wants to fight you or a friend speak to an adult or use the Randle Rescue QR Code. Let’s mediate the situation before it becomes physical.
- Social media is used as a major source of information and entertainment today. For our students everything is a tweet, a post on Instagram, or a video on Tik Tok. Many of our students use social media appropriately; however, when used inappropriately, posts can be hurtful and mean. This can be recording someone without permission and/or making negative or derogatory comments about a person on any of the social media platforms. Repetitive negative posts can be seen a form bullying. Let’s teach our children to be responsible about technology.
I believe together we can teach our students to act responsibly, find solutions to their problems, and build them up to experience success at TRHS . Ultimately, we want every person to have a positive experience while attending Randle. As the first two classes we are setting the standard for all other classes to follow.
Please to reach out to me or another administrator directly if there are any questions or concerns. We are here to support and assist you.
I would also like to share some amazing data. I hope you are as excited as I was when I read the information.

As stated before there is a hold on your exemptions until this is paid. We will begin sending notifications to parents of students who have had their cell phone taken up or have received a new ID.
I would like to recognize the majority of our student body who have and are wearing their ID's. Keep leading by example, you are doing your part to make Randle great!

The Mane Market is Open!
We have been so proud of our Lions for all of the great things they have done this year. Students have been getting to class on time, wearing ID's, and working hard in class. Mr. Montelongo has incorporated a school store just for our students. This store has snacks, drinks, Randle gear, and much more. Again, this is for the students who earned it by doing all the right things on campus and as a birthday appreciation gift from Mr. Montelongo.
With that being said, we have opened the Mane Market for students. At any given time students can receive Lion Loot or tokens. Campus leaders and selected teachers have been giving out these tokens to students. These tokens are also sent with a birthday card each month. Tokens are used to purchase items from the Mane Market.
Parents At Randle (PAR)
We had our 2nd Parents At Randle (PAR) interest meeting. We had an amazing turnout with our 3rd meeting taking place October 19, 2022. The focus of the PAR is to work collaboratively in creating learning opportunities for our students.
The PAR is for everyone and we hope you can come October 19, 2022 at 7:00 PM in the Library.
ID cards and Student Agendas
IDs and agendas are a requirement. All students are expected to wear their ID's daily. In order to leave the class for any reason, every student must be wearing an ID and have their agenda completed and signed by the teacher.
SAFETY MATTERS
THIS IS IN FULL EFFECT FOR ALL EXTERIOR DOORS THIS YEAR!
THIS IS IN FULL EFFECT FOR ALL EXTERIOR DOORS THIS YEAR!
- Do not knock or beat on doors in order to enter the building.
- You must walk around and enter through the front entrance.
- Leaving a door propped open is a safety hazard.
- All doors must be locked and closed at all times.
PICTURE ID SMART TAG REQUIRED FOR ALL LCISD STUDENTS AND EMPLOYEES!
This year ID's ARE MANDATORY! $5 replacement charges are in place now!
ID's (lanyards and a protective case) have all been passed out and MUST be worn and visible at all times! If you do not have one, you must see Dr. Bogarty first thing in the morning for a replacement. We will start doing ID sweeps this week, and anyone without one will be charged $5 and given a new one. This is NOT optional, as it is part of dress code. If you keep losing it you will KEEP being charged. We will be sending weekly "fine" email reports to your parents. Not paying is not an option, and there will be a hold placed on your final semester grades and exemptions will NOT be an option.ar, as an increase to our safety measures, students and staff are required to wear their identification badge at all times. Student badges will serve as the student ID and SmartTag all in one card. This will happen during the first week!
Cell Phone Policy
Your child's education is of the utmost importance to us, therefore we want to place a priority on minimizing distractions. Beginning Monday, August 22, 2022, Randle High School has instituted a no cell phone policy during class.
Students are allowed to bring cell phones to school and are allowed to use them before school, during lunch, and after school. Phones should not be visible and in use between passing periods or during class, unless students are provided permission by the teacher.
For clarification, cell phones can be in the student's possession, but the phone must be put away during the instruction. If a student has their cell phone visible, without teacher/staff member permission, they will be asked to give their cell phone to the teacher/staff member. They will receive their cell phone at the end of the day from the front office. The following information will be posted in every classroom:
- Phones must be put away at ALL TIMES during instructional time, unless there is an instructional purpose GIVEN by the teacher. If you refuse to follow this expectation, it will result in a discipline referral. (NOTE: Phones are allowable before 8:15 AM, during the student's 30-minute lunch time, and after 3:40 PM.)
- Ignoring a teacher or staff member when they ask that to put away your cell phone will result in a discipline referral.
- All students must have their planner hall pass signed by a teacher to be out of their scheduled class. Students without a pass will receive a discipline referral.
- Instigating, participating, or video recording any type of altercation, harassing/bullying, or any other student code of conduct offenses with your cell phone will result in a discipline referral and possible alternative school placement.
Please know that educating our Randle High School students is our number one priority, and we place a precedence on having a safe and secure school. We appreciate your support and partnership in maintaining an environment and culture where learning is the focus.

Randle High School and Wright Junior High Traffic Flow Map
Our goal is to ensure that all students get to campus safely and on time. Adhering to the appropriate drop off area will assist in a smooth and safe drop off. Parents who have students at both Randle HS and Wright can drop their students off in the areas where the black dots are located. Cones will be out to help direct traffic.
Please do not hesitate to contact the campus if there are any questions. Let's make this year a year to remember! #RISE&GRIND

SMART TAG INFORMATION
Dear Lion Parents,
This year, as an increase to our safety measures, students and staff are required to wear their identification badge at all times. Student badges will serve as the student ID and SmartTag all in one card.
We will also provide all students and staff with an emergency safety card to be worn with their ID Badge. This requirement is just one of several new safety additions that we are incorporating this year. The safety card contains Lamar CISD's Standard Response Protocol, important emergency numbers, as well as a QR code that links directly to the district’s anonymous tip line. Badges will be distributed with student SMART Tags.
In addition, the LCISD Communications Team has produced a safety video for families that highlights the safety standards that have been in place and what additions have been implemented this year. To access the safety video, CLICK HERE.
