Shout Outs from Parents & Students
Way to go! You are making a difference to our families!
Parents: Please take a minute to share a shout out with our staff members.
Mr. Haber: Mr. Haber, thank you so much for all the fun you have with your students in 6th Grade. You even went as far as dressing up (on theme) for the 6th Grade dance. My student loves having you as a homeroom teacher and looks forward to that class everyday. Thank you so much for responding so quickly to emails I send with parent questions too.
Ms. Main: Ms. Main is simply wonderful - kind, personable with her students and makes learning enjoyable. As my daughters 1st period teacher, Ms. Main is a great start to her mornings, each and every day!

April is Child Abuse Prevention and Awareness Month.
Greetings Taylor Road family, it’s Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention Month and I'm Alicia McClung, the School Social Worker. I want to take the time out to share some resources with our school community on how to grow better together. Protective factors are strengths within a family and community which help develop and promote health and well-being among families. The five protective factors are parental resilience, social connections, concrete support in the times of need, knowledge of parenting and child development, and social and emotional competence of children. Parenting is the hardest job ever! We all need support and encouragement for the journey of raising healthy kids. This link provides tip sheets of discussion starters that can be used to explore ways to better engage with your family.
When we embrace and foster these protective factors, it provides a solid foundation of growth and positive relationship building. If at any time you have questions or want to explore additional support, feel free to reach out to me at 470-254-8710 or via email at mcclunga1@fultonschools.org.

Backpacks of Love
At TRMS we have a program called “backpacks of love”. The purpose of this program is to provide assistance by donating non-perishable items to our families. The participants’ names are known only to the counselors and social worker. Once every two weeks a backpack with food items are available to go home. A student can carry the backpack home, or the parent can pick it up at the front office. All we need to know is if you would like to participate, how many adults are in the house, how many children are in the house, and if there are any dietary allergies such as peanut butter. We can only provide for a certain number of families so the sooner you reply the better. We will respond regardless of whether you are in the program or if supplies run out.
