School Supplies Need a Boost!

Parents, we are nearing the halfway point in the school year, and teachers are noticing that students' school supplies are dwindling. Please take the time to replenish your student's notebook paper, pencils, markers, etc.

PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Happy Holidays! I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season. We have a few events this month. We will have a holiday concert that is always a wonderful showcase of the hard work our Music students have put in so far this year. I hope you are able to attend even if your child is not participating in the Music. Thank you to Mr. Janakes and Mr. Stinson for their dedication and hard work to get students ready for their big presentation.

Like me, I know you that you have a lot to be thankful for this holiday season. Many in our community lack basic necessities and would appreciate the support during the holidays. If you are aware of a family that may be in need this season please contact our front office. We have a few organizations that look to help out families during the holidays.

On campus, many of our clubs will be starting up this month. I want to recognize Amber Barnett, who dedicates her time and support to our Talent and Gifted Program and our Scavenger Hunt team. The State of Jefferson Scavenger Hunt is a regional competition put on by SOU where students can compete against other schools in the valley, testing their research skills. This is a first time experience for many students and it grows in popularity each year. Many Hanby students go on each year to be a part of the Crater Scavenger hunt team.

We are finishing the boys basketball season this month and the boys have shown much improvement. Both the Varsity and JV have been very successful. Our Varsity team took second place in our small schools Boys Basketball Tournament Nov. 16th-17th. Thank you to the coaches and parents for supporting these boys' development through the year.

My family and the staff here at Hanby join me in wishing all of you a wonderful Holiday season and a Happy New Year.

Mr. Dippel

Inclement Weather Notifications:

Not that we're hoping for any "Snow" days in our future, but if you wake up one morning to snow-covered treetops outside:

Please check the School District 6 website at www.district6.org for information on school closures, delays, and/or bus route changes. Local news channels will report this information as well.

Fall Food Drive Results:

Congratulations to Mrs. Gurr’s 1st period class. They won the food drive, while Ms. Couch’s class came in second. All together we were able to donate over 550 items to the local food bank. Thank you to all of you who helped our community by donating!
