Husky Happenings

May 3 - 7

From Mr. Martin

This is the time of year that we have staff that change positions and/or move to other campuses in the district. I always encourage staff to continue to prosper in their careers. It gives our campus the opportunity to interview new staff and learn. Part of our interview process allows applicants to ask questions. One question an applicant recently asked was, "what is the one thing outstanding about your school?" All the committee members answered but my answer is similar to what I say every year in the month of May, "kids have never been kinder and teachers have never been more skilled than where we are right now."

Teacher Appreciation Week is May 3-7

Take a moment to thank a teacher next week! This has been an interesting school year. We’re getting through it thanks to our amazing teachers. Let’s celebrate the good memories we’ve made and the way our teachers have gone above and beyond. Looking for a "Staff Favorite"? Send a message to vanrheena@usd231.com she can let you know a favorite drink and candy bar. We appreciate your support!

PLEASE HELP YOUR STUDENT REMEMBER TO WEAR THEIR MASK TO SCHOOL EVERY DAY

We are so thankful to have in-person learning. This can continue only as long as we remain vigilant in our mitigation efforts. Thank you for reinforcing these ways to slow the spread:

Thank you!

IMPORTANT COVID-19 INFORMATION

When deciding if your student is able to attend school, please keep the following in mind. If your student has one primary or two secondary symptoms of covid-19, they need to remain at home. If your student has tested for covid-19 and are waiting on their results, they need to remain at home. If someone in the home has tested positive for covid-19, your student needs to remain at home. If they have been a close contact of someone who has tested positive for covid-19, even if that person does not live in the home, then your student needs to remain at home.

If one of these is your situation, please call and let us know. We will provide further guidance at that time. We appreciate your help and support in our endeavor to provide a healthy school environment for our students and staff.
