CALENDAR CHANGES
SPRING CONFERENCE DAYS ARE NOW INSTRUCTIONAL DAYS
The spring conference days for Primary Schools (March 18 and 19) and for Middle Schools (March 19) will be canceled and converted to school days of instruction with teachers and students. This decision was made due to the timing of the hybrid model transition as well as the recent disruption to instructional time caused by power outages. The cancelation of conference days includes students in Comprehensive Distance Learning, the Hybrid Model, and the WLWV K12 Online Program.
What this means is that Primary Students will have a regular school day on March 18 and March 19 and Middle School Students will have a regular school day on March 19. While conferences are an important part of our work with students, current challenges encourage us to focus on instructional time with students.
ADJUSTMENT TO SCHOOL CALENDAR IN JUNE
The three closure dates we had this week (February 23, 24, 25) will be made up in June. The final day of school will be announced once we have more certainty in regards to the number of expected “snow days/no school days” this school year.
To see the latest status of school operations, please visit the district website. Families are encouraged to sign up for FlashAlert for updates.
Change in Meal Program
Because we are returning to in-person/hybrid learning, our school buses will now be needed to transport students and therefore home delivery of meals will no longer be possible.
There will be no more meal delivery to homes starting Feb. 22. Instead, families can pick up a full week’s worth of meals at one time every Tuesday or Friday. Hot lunch will be provided to students during their in-person learning days. The last day of meal delivery to households will be Friday, Feb. 19.
Meal Pick Up For Students in CDL and the WLWV K12 Online Program
- Five days’ worth of meals will be available for pickup for all students on Tuesdays and Fridays at all school locations. Meal sets include breakfast and lunch.
- Meals are free for all children age 18 and younger who reside in the district boundary regardless of school attendance.
- Families can pick up meals from any school location.
To learn more about the Meal Program or to contact the nutrition services department, please visit their webpage on the district website.
