Note from the teachers
Safe travels and happy holidays! See you next year!!
Ways to help at home
- Students are not required to do homework over the holiday. However, Raz Kids and Mathletics are available online anywhere in the world if your child would like to read or practice their math skills!
- If you are travelling, let students look at maps or timetables and get them to discuss where you are going and how you will get there!
- See the math website below to read strategies to help with double digit subtraction!

Grade 2 Learning in Action
German
Unit
Students read Leporellos (story of Nikolaus, Christmas stories), watched informative videos (Chanukkah), and went to the Jewish Museum to gather information about the different winter holidays. Students then used a graphic organizer to write down facts, opinions, and symbols for these celebrations.
All second grade students read, memorized, and recited the poem "Knecht Ruprecht" and did a fantastic job! We will post a picture in the Friday Smore.
Homework
Thank you for the support with the poem "Knecht Ruprecht". There will be no homework over Christmas break but we encourage students to read and maybe write in a journal.
