Chorus Sign Up
Do you like to sing and make music? We look forward to adding your child's voice to our Half Day Choruses! Half Day Chorus is open to all third, fourth, and fifth-grade students at Half Day School.

5th-Grade Band Registration
- Beginner band information is available to families of fifth-graders interested in joining band.
- Fill out the general interest form by Monday, Sept. 4.
- A parent Meeting is set for Tuesday, Sept. 12. Parents may choose one of the following options to attend with their band student.
- Option 1 in person Tuesday Sept. 12, from 5:30 to 6:00 p.m., Half Day Band Room
- Option 2 in person Tuesday Sept. 12, from 6:15 to 6:45 p.m., Half Day Band Room
- Option 3 virtual Tuesday Sept. 12, from 7:00 to 7:30 p.m. (The link will be sent to families who fill out the interest form.)

Fourth-Grade Orchestra
Fourth-graders can learn the violin, viola, cello, or bass.
Musicians have a lesson once a week during P.E. class.

HAWKsighting SEL
Once a month students spend additional concentrated time on social emotional learning activities that center around District 103's Portrait of a Graduate competencies - Global Citizenship, Critical Thinking, Adaptability, Empathy, Collaboration, and Perseverance.
Communication Resources
Teacher Response: As you know, teachers primary responsibility is teaching children. Please allow them 24 hours to respond to your calls or emails.
School Office: If you need to pick up students early or drop them off later in the day, please first send a note to the child's teacher. A second option is to call the school office at 847-634-6463.
Reporting an Absence: Call 847-634-1484 or email Hd_attendance@d103.org.
Following up on Safety Procedures
The District 103 administrative staff met this week to review the phone call threat and evacuation process that took place at Daniel Wright and ways to improve procedures. Additionally, the district, police and fire departments will meet to further review the process to discuss areas of improvement.
The Lincolnshire Police Department is investigating the call that was received by the school to identify the caller. The department will update the school district on their progress as the investigation unfolds.
For safety concerns you may have, please reach out to the the school or district office. In the event of a possible threat, call the Lincolnshire Police Department’s non-emergency number at 847-883-9900. If there is an actual threat, call 911.

In our ongoing efforts to enhance your children’s safety, Sprague and Half Day Schools will begin using the PikMyKid Dismissal Application beginning Monday, Sept. 18. PikMyKid has been proven to simplify dismissal, reduce traffic congestion, and most importantly, improve overall safety.

The Power of Play - How Play Can Help Children Learn Lessons for Life
In this virtual presentation, parents will hear from Dr. Rebecca Isbell, an internationally renowned educator & speaker on how play can be utilized to help advance learning for children. We will also be joined by Ms. Ann Hofmeier, principal at Sprague School, who will reflect on how teachers at Sprague use play daily to promote educational concepts in their classrooms.
