From the Principal

Dear Parents,

It has been another short week here at Crabapple Crossing. I hope you had a fantastic long weekend. Our teachers had an amazing Release Day with author Lester Laminack. He led a full day of literacy professional development and focused on helping us improve our read alouds. Each teacher in our building is required to read aloud to kids. Research shows students who are read aloud to daily will make a year's worth of growth in comparison to students who are not. This is why reading is required homework each and every night for your child. Please make sure you are committed to helping us by doing your part at home.

Today we celebrated our grandparents. This is actually the first year we have held a school wide event and it was fabulous. Can you believe we even had some grandparents actually fly in for this event from other states? Approximately 350 grandparents were able to join us for this special time! Our teachers were given the flexibility to plan an event with their homeroom class. I was able to see various activities around the building. We plan to make this day a tradition each year as our grandparents are so important to our school community.

I hope you have a great weekend!

Milton Football Game

It was great to see so many students and families in attendance at the Milton/Cambridge football game last Friday! Congratulations to Milton High School on their win. On the left is a pic of our administration with current Colts.

Employees of the Month

Congratulations to our August staff members of the month, Ms. Moore (CST) and Mrs. Wolter (Grade 4).
