Muffins in May
ABC's of Kindergarten
This week:
We have continued our study of Fairy Tales in language arts this week. Students are now easily able to identify some of the key elements that make-up a fairy tale. Together we enjoyed, Jack and the Beanstalk, Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella. It was exciting to see kiddos transfer what they have learned about fairy tales into their own writing this week as well.
The sight words for next week are: when, out & went
If your child has not mastered the sight words for quarters 1-3 please practice them often in addition to the 4th quarter words.
This week students took NWEA assessments. I am so proud of the growth they have shown. As soon as the reports are complete with district information I will send the information home.
We had the opportunity this week to collaborate with Mrs. Muegge's 3rd grade class to use the Night Zookeeper App to do a creative writing activity. The students were super excited to create a fictional character and use what they have learned to write a story about them.
It has been a great week, thank you for sharing your children with me!

Here are a couple questions to get the conversation going:
-Tell me a joke from your class joke book.
- Let's work on learning your phone number and address.
-Did you vote this week, tell me about it!
-Tell me about the character you created with the I-pads on Night Zookeeper.
