From Gerry Brook's Twitter feed:
"The problem with quotes on the internet is that it is hard to verify their authenticity."
- Abe Lincoln
Can you believe that Gerry Brook's visit to the Sacramento area sold out in one day?
With Appreciation:
- Big thanks to Scott for helping Arty out with some tech issues on his phone! Arty & I both appreciate it!
- Our office team is on overdrive - registration has begun! We love that you do your work with a smile!
- Thank you to Irma for helping to put together books inspired by Black History Month for the library and our bulletin board in the breezeway.
Quick Reminders
- Hopefully you were able to meet with all of your families this fall for a conference. The district's policy is that teachers meet with all families at least once each year. If you were unable to meet in the fall, please reach out to schedule a meeting at 2nd trimester reporting time. If you did not meet after tri 1, please be sure you've sent the report card home for the parents to see.
- StarStruck is underway! We'll be taking order forms/$ for tickets - please send anything you collect to Michelle in the office. Also, the quick rehearsal times for the assembly/show days has been established. Check out this doc and find your time at the bottom of the page for your time slot. If it interferes with recess, we'll find a way to make it work - just let me know. Reminder that there is no practice the week of 2/11!
- In the past, we've hosted an after school "volunteer appreciation event." This year, our goal is to host it before school as a breakfast - stay tuned!
- Open House has been moved to Thurs., 5/23/19

PBIS Update
In February, we are recognizing students who are walking in line appropriately. We are also ordering new ticket pads (we've gone through our big box - yes!) with an additional option to recognize kids for developing/using a growth mindset. We are going to try a new ticket pull process - it involves a prize wheel at lunch! Students will be able to drop their tickets into grade level boxes starting on Monday. Stay tuned!
iReady data Checkin
YES! Our overall school-wide time on task for the Reading iReady Intervention was 30 minutes! We made it to 27 minutes/student in iReady Math.
Kudos to the following teachers for encouraging their kiddos to hit their 30+ minute target in reading intervention: Stelma, Cassidy, Ochoa, Wetzstin, Hill, Botonis, Coleman, Crooks, Whiteside and Shye.
