Ready to Learn Fair - Aug 11
The Anacortes Ready to Learn Fair will be held Saturday, August 11, 9:00 am - 12:00 pm, at AMS. With new fiscal sponsorship from the Anacortes Schools Foundation, the fair provides families in need with new school supplies and other services as well as engagement with many community partners to support family life and student learning.
New this year: The fair entrance and parking will be at the front of AMS rather than by the cafeteria. We also encourage fair-goers to bring water bottles in support of the fair's zero-waste initiative. Seahawk Startup Dates
Students will have the opportunity pick up class schedules, pay start up fees (click here for 2018-19 fee schedule), have their photo taken for their student ID/ASB card, pick up textbooks & laptop, deposit money into their student lunch account, and pick up forms for on-campus parking / dance contract / AHS club information. Please ensure that your student is aware of their date and time. At this time, Seahawk Start Up activities will take place in our new high school.

AmeriCorps in our Schools
Calling all future teachers, leaders and trailblazers! Join the Anacortes School District for the 2018-19 school year as an AmeriCorps Washington ReadingCorps literacy tutor! This full-time (40+ hours/week) 10.5-month national volunteer position will change you, challenge you, and give you the opportunity to strengthen and support the community you love through support for struggling young readers in grades K-4.

The Anacortes Boys and Girls Club is offering #Discover Summer every week of summer break. When you choose to #DiscoverSummer at the Boys & Girls Club, you can rely on purposeful and intentional programs and activities to engage youth of all ages. This year, each week is centered around a theme, from which all elements of engagement begin. The hours are 7 am-6 pm and the cost is $135 a week in addition to membership fees. FIRST Robotics 2018-19 Sign Ups: Anacortes FIRST Robotics is now accepting advance signups for 2018-2019 FLLJr/FLL team information for elementary and middle school teams. FIRST is celebrating its 30th anniversary and the 50th anniversary of the first manned mission to the moon with space-themed challenges at all levels. Teams will be starting at the beginning of the school year. Don’t let your child miss out; sign up in advance for team registration information. No obligation or commitment. Salvation Army - Have you ever wondered what it would take to build a scale model of an aircraft or other vehicle? Join us this summer for our new Model Building class. Thunderbird Aquatic Club Summer Activities
