Happy Friday!
As you know, next week is conference week! We have no meetings schedule before/after school or during your specials time. Please send your conference schedule to Suzy before the end of day Friday (3/1) so she can put them together for parents who may call and/or show up. :-) I'm including the reminders below I sent out a couple of weeks ago regarding this week.
Conferences may be held each morning between 7am-8:20am each morning. In order to ensure there is someone in the building to buzz parents in, please adhere to the following conference guidance.
- Monday – last in-person conference at 4:10pm
- Tuesday – last in-person conference at 4:10pm
- Wednesday – last in-person conference at 5:40pm
- Thursday – last in-person conference at 5:00pm
- Friday - last in-person conference at 4:10pm
If you have a conference where you feel you need an administrator, please contact your AP. Those conferences will need to take place within the schedule above. If you have a parent who requests to see an admin during your conference, please buzz the office. If someone is available, they will come. Otherwise, let the parent know you will communicate their question/request and the admin will get back to them (email your AP if this happens).
The following should be communicated during conferences:
- MOY iReady Parent Reports as well as current progress on iReady or Amplify
- Current Grades
- Conduct Information
- Promotion Requirements
- K-2 and 4th: AKS Mastery (grades)
- 3rd grade: GMAS – Reading and AKS Mastery (grades)
- 5th: GMAS – Reading and AKS Mastery (grades)
Recess Reminders
As you know, this is the time of year where incidents at recess tend to increase. In order to ensure playground safety, please remember the following expectations:
- All teachers who have playground duty should be spread out. While I know there is a strong temptation, please do not stand together in a group. I recommend one person at the back fence, one person watching the field, and two watching equipment on either side. However, as you know your students best, feel free to adjust locations if you know a specific area needs additional monitioring. :-)
- Please adhere to playground times. The schedule notes when each class is leaving the cafeteria and when the class is walking back into the classroom following a restroom/water break.
- If you do not have playground duty that day, please still meet your partner teacher at the back door to confirm all students are accounted for and to walk them back to class.
- Please do not allow students to run down the sidewalk as they exit the cafeteria to the playground. We have classes transitioning to and from PE and we do not want students to get hurt with that amount of traffic. They can run as soon as they get to the grassy area.
