Class placement is a difficult task and one that I take very seriously. In order to create an optimal learning environment for all of our students, it is critical that we create balanced classes! As this year ends, teachers will meet together and divide the students into their classes for next year. The teachers do not assign teachers to these class lists but focus on balancing the classes (according to a range of student ability, behaviors, gender, and the number of students) for the next grade level. Teacher input will be one of the most significant factors in placing students. After teachers submit these lists, I will assign teachers to classes.
If you have any information that you would like to share that would be helpful in placing them in a class, please complete this form BEFORE May 27th, and I will match your child with the teacher that can best meet his/her need(s). I prefer that this form does not contain a desired teacher’s name; if you feel an absolute necessity to put down a teacher’s name, please include 2 EQUAL choices of teachers that you feel your child would be successful working with, and I will do my best to accommodate. Teachers on each grade level spend a great deal of time working together to best meet the needs of each student. Because of the strong teams of teachers at Meadow Brook and because of some excellent newly hired teachers, I am confident that your kids will be in good hands next year.
If you know that your student will not be returning to Meadow Brook in the fall, please let the office know as soon as possible or let me know via email. This will help us as we balance classes for next year.
