CSD Week 24 Update
WEEK 24, Cambrian School District, Feb. 26, 2021
Dear Cambrian Families,
It certainly has been a great week! On Tuesday evening, the San Jose City Council voted 9-2 to approve Cambrian School District’s land redevelopment project at Metzler C on Cambrianna Drive. As a result, we will reach our overarching goals of creating a new, ongoing sustainable source of unrestricted revenue in the next few years, maintaining and honoring our community’s trust as to the work we have done the past few years on this project, and in providing various levels of future housing that will conform with the surrounding neighborhood. All of this effort was done in a manner that will financially empower our district to keep valuable programs and support for our students directly for many years to come. As your superintendent, I am proud to be a part of this project, which I know will positively impact our students for years to come.
If you would like to view the City Council Meeting and great public comments from students, staff, parents and community leaders, you can access through the following link: City Council Meeting (2.23.21)
Thank you again to everyone who partnered with us to see this two-year effort complete. Stay tuned for updates on the Metzler project-- I will keep you posted every step of the process.
Also, more positive news: on Wednesday, Santa Clara County is in a downward trend as we are at 6.7 adjusted cases per/100,000. Next Tuesday, March 2nd if we maintain less than 7.0 adjusted case rate per 100,000 we will officially be in the red tier next week. In addition, as you are aware, we have been actively planning for our return to in-person instruction at all our schools.
Please be sure to read the message I sent to families yesterday regarding this ever-changing situation. We are planning for a return to in-person learning in the next few weeks, and there are many details to work out, so please be vigilant about reading all emails from your school site and the district office.
We are very excited for students to return to our campuses fairly soon. Thank you again for your input, patience and collaboration as we have walked through this historic, unprecedented event in our generation. We remain committed to serving the students and families of this district.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend. We are Cambrian!

CSD Local Control Accountability Plan Survey 2021-22
The goal of the community planning process is to gather feedback on the design and implementation of the district’s priorities for the Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP). To accomplish this, we are gathering community input. Your participation is critical in this decision-making process, and we appreciate your assistance with this survey.
The Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) is California’s formula for determining the level of state funding allocated to districts to provide for their state-supported general and supplemental programs. The Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) is LCFF’s vehicle for transparency and engagement. The LCAP allows us to share performance data, needs, actions, and anticipated outcomes that guide the use of available LCFF funding.
