Plessy v. Ferguson

  • Blacks and whites were not mixed
  • There were things for each race; water fountains & bathrooms for example
  • They were deemed equal but to a certain extent
  • The Chief Justice at this time was Justice Fuller

Brown v. Board of Education

  • Separate but equal was no longer deemed constitutional
  • Segregated bathrooms are not constitutional anymore
  • Blacks and whites will use the same facilities
