PARENT/FAMILY NEWSLETTER - OCTOBER 2, 2022 ISSUE #8
Hello Cub Families!
I hope everyone fared well in the rain and wind caused by Hurricane Ian. The Remote Day was a surprise and I am grateful to our amazing staff for pulling things together so quickly! If your student is in grades 3-5 and experienced connectivity issues due to the storm, please just let the teacher know. Please make sure that all students bring the completed work with them on Monday to be marked present for the day. I would anticipate that in the event of another Remote Day, we will be prepared to have our younger students participate in online learning as well.
Our fabulous PTO met last Tuesday and things are really moving along quickly. They are in the process of raising the funds needed to open bank accounts and apply for tax exempt status. They are also planning some great activities. Please mark your calendars for Thursday, October 27th for the Fall Trunk or Treat at Clear View. Details will be coming about how parents can sign up to have a car in the festivities. There will also be staff directed games and activities, raffle baskets, food trucks, and a chance to see one of the admin team get a pie to the face! It's going to be a great evening and we hope to see you there!
Mrs. Gray led our first Volunteer Training last week which was well attended. There are two more opportunities in the coming weeks. Please see the advertisement below. We are excited to have volunteers back in the building after the past few years! Please register if you plan to attend or call Mrs. Gray to let her know, so we can insure we have ample materials and space.
Our students completed all of the state/district required beginning of the year testing and in the next week you will be receiving information on your student. If you have questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to your child's teacher. Teachers will be scheduling conferences with all families in the month of November, but can meet with you sooner if you desire.
Looking forward to another GREAT week at Clear View Elementary!
