The Dolphin Echo
Families: Tuesday, January 5, 2021
I know that 2020 brought many challenging times for each of us and for our community. It also taught us many things, from new technology skills to revealing (yet again) our profound resiliency. It has also been a year of great accomplishment and a demonstration of our love for our school community, each other, and the desire to thrive in the face of adversity.
As we move into 2021, let us take the lessons we have learned and continue to persevere and support one another.
In this edition of The Dolphin Echo, you will find information on the following
- 4-day week modified schedule
- Family survey from YouthTruth
- Daily Work
- Attendance Raffles
- Updates on material distributions
- Next School Site Council and English Language Advisory Meetings
- Covid guidelines
- Links to: tech support, mental health crisis resources, free meal distributions, and past newsletters
Here's to a wonderful new year--one filled with hope and possibility.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Cooper
4-day week
Future four-day weeks include the weeks of:
- January 18-22
- February 8-12
- February 15-19
We want to hear from our families and students!
In Santa Rosa City Schools we value your input, feedback, opinion, and love hearing your comments. Last year we participated in the Youth Truth Survey and we will participate again this year. Youth Truth is a national nonprofit that harnesses student and stakeholder (that's you!) perceptions. This helps educators (that's us!) accelerate improvements at Helen Lehman but also in Santa Rosa City Schools.
I am requesting your participation in the Youth Truth Survey for Families. Click here to access the survey: http://www.ytsurvey.org/santarosafamily21. After clicking on the link, you can choose your home language at the top. Please make sure you choose Helen Lehman Elementary School and use the "next" button at the bottom. You also will need to submit your answers when you are done. This survey does not ask for your name.
Please take the survey before it closes at midnight on 1/29/2021.
· The survey needs to be completed in one sitting.
· We ask that one member of each household fill out the survey.
· If you have more than one child who attends the same school, you may respond to the survey multiple times - one time per child.
Thank you in advance for taking this survey!
Daily Work
- Please be sure your child is checking their platform each day. We use Seesaw and Google Classroom.
- Also, all students will benefit from doing 15-20 minutes on Lexia (Core5 for grades K-5, and PowerUp for grade 6) and Happy Numbers. These programs can be assessed through ClassLink.
Attendance Raffles!
- All students who attend school on Wednesday will automatically be put into a school raffle. Winners at each grade level will be announced on Fridays and students can come to pick out a toy of their choosing.
- All students with perfect attendance for a month will be put in a BIG raffle. A winner will be chosen to come to get a bigger prize. For January, the family who wins will receive a prize as well as a deluxe art set for the kiddo. We will continue to do a big monthly prize each month going forward!
