Please sign up for the ERS Talent Show! There will be a daytime show for staff and students. Families are welcome to the nighttime show on January 20th!

Yearbooks can be ordered online or send in your $16.00 payment (check prefered made out to Edgar Road Elementary) to Lisa in the office. They will be delivered to school later in the school year. Please visit inter-state.com/order and enter code 73226N to order!

All clothes are being donated on Friday. Please check it out and make sure you don't have any lost clothing.

For their music presentation this year, 4th graders collaborated with Mrs. Kissick in music and Mrs. Lee in art to create an original artwork inspired by a mystery track.

Students were presented with eight different musical tracks. The tracks had no identifiers such as titles, composer, or genre. Tracks were all instrumental. Students chose a track that spoke most to them and began story mapping what the music made them think of and feel. We used these brainstorming sessions to begin designing an original artwork that best displayed how the music spoke to them.

The artwork has been displayed in the main hall, by track, with QR codes that play the music! These pieces are personal/deep and have great artist statements that support their line of thinking. We even had one 4th grader compose their own track for the project. This is the first time they've ever been asked to do something like this and they really enjoyed it.

We are excited to announce that this winter WGSD will sponsor a basketball program for 3rd - 5th grade students designed to teach the fundamentals of basketball. Practices are Tuesday nights at WGSD Elementary School Gyms. Games will be played on Sundays in the gyms at WGHS. Teams will be put together by elementary school attendance and grade level.To be eligible to participate in this league, students must either attend a WGSD elementary school or live within the WGSD boundaries.

• Grades: 3rd - 5th
• Practices: Tuesdays between 6:00pm - 9:00pm

Our First PTO Meeting of 2023!

As you can imagine, we have a lot of things in store for the 2nd part of our year! You have an opportunity to hear about many of them this week, at our next general meeting. It starts at 6:30 in the school library and is expected to last just over an hour - childcare will be provided! Please see the agenda!

Coming Up:

• January 13 - Fitness Friday returns with Title Fitness Boxing (see attached flyer) - $10 per person and a Happy Hour to follow on the 13th!
• January 26 - Event Time runs from 4-8pm - Urban Air Jump Night
• Use the link to sign the necessary waiver in advance.
• Pay at the door and mention ERS PTO for 2 hours of jump time. Note - socks not included, so bring your own grippy socks or buy them from Urbain Air once you've entered.

The Edgar Road PTO Talent Show is coming back! Save the Date for January 20th and start practicing your music, magic, physical feats, and more. Performance times must be 3 minutes or less.

Will have an assembly for the school on the 20th and a night performance for the families.

Here is the registration link for the Talent Show which will be held twice on January 20th with a dress rehearsal on the 17th.
