Now (what has happened this week)

Welcome to our weekly newsletter!

Hello from all of us at Balladen School.

What a week we have had!

Lots of our focus this week has been on ensuring that our wonderful Year 2 and Year 6 children are happy, relaxed and able to show their best through their SAT assessments.

It has been a privilege to walk around our school and see so many smiling faces in all classrooms this week.

Our Year 6 children came into school early each morning at 8:00 am and had breakfast at school. They were served by a very dedicated group of teachers and teaching assistants. There was cereal, bacon and sausage sandwiches and also pancakes for the children. This is a great way to start the day! The Year 6 children then went out for some fresh air before their assessments.

A big thank you to all of the staff involved in the mornings. You made what could have been a very tough week for the children less so.

Also a big thank you to all of the parents and carers in Year 6 who ensured that their children were at school everyday! We really appreciate it.

On Thursday many of our children participated in a cross country competition at Marl Pits. There were many children running in Year 5 and 6 and we are all really proud of their effort. Lois in Year 6 came 14th in her competition which is an amazing result. Well done Lois!

On Friday our Year 3 class went a visited a farm. These outdoor learning opportunities are wonderful for the children and something we are very proud of happening at Balladen.

Thank you for your continued support.

Have a fantastic weekend and we look forward to seeing you next week.
