PTO's FALL FESTIVAL!

Our Fall Festival was so fun! Thank you for all who were able to attend and/or volunteer to make it a success!!

Parent and Teacher Conferences

Our parent and teacher conferences are quickly approaching on Nov. 14th and 19th! Please be sure to sign up with your teacher or call the office to schedule. We have so much to share about our scholars! There will be NO SCHOOL on the 19th.

School of the Wild

Our 6th graders enjoyed a full week of outdoor education at Lake McBride for the annual School of the Wild. Wild is an outside-the-classroom learning experience that every single 6th grade student in the Iowa City Community School District enjoys. The whole experience serves to help students become more aware of and gain a greater appreciation for wildlife and the world's ecosystem. Our scholars had a blast and showed Falcon Focus throughout the week!

Falcon Family Winter Gear Swap

Our 3rd Annual Falcon Family Winter Gear Swap will take place on November 19!

Families have two ways to participate and are encouraged to do both! Families can donate winter gear (sizes 5T- children's XL) including gently used snow boots, snow pants and winter coats with working zippers and no tears. These items can be dropped off in our office before Nov. 18. Families can attend the Winter Gear Swap on November 19, 8:00 am-7:00 pm in the school main lobby. Families do not need to swap items to attend. Children's snow boot vouchers will be available at this event for those eligible students.

Winter Has Arrived!

It is getting colder outside and the snow has already arrived! We will go outside to recess all winter, unless the windchill is 5 degrees or below. To play in the snow at school, children need coats, hats, gloves, snow boots, and snow pants. We have extra hats, scarves, and some pairs of gloves to share when needed. If your family is in need of support finding these items, please contact Ms. Shannon! She will help you navigate finding these resources.

Alexander PTO Meetings

Our Alexander Parent Teacher Organization meets monthly on the second Monday of every month at 6:30 pm in the library. All parents are automatically members of the PTO and are welcome and encouraged to attend all meetings. The purpose is to support our students and enhance the education of our school. Childcare is always provided. Our November meeting will be held on Monday, November 11. We hope to see you there!
