A message from the principal

Whew, we have been so busy learning and playing at Alexander Elementary in 2020!

Taking time to celebrate big and small accomplishments is something we cherish at Alexander. Our ongoing goal is to lift our scholars up with positive acknowledgements, Golden Tickets, #goodnewsoftheday calls, #falconize postcards, and many other ways. We have recently added one more simple, yet POWERFUL, way to celebrate around here.

Many of you have seen and commented about our shiny new bell hanging in the wedge. A new tradition is that classes/students/staff that have met goals in academics, social/emotional/behavior, or just plain big life events will get a chance to ring Archibald Alexander's new bell!

Our #firstdayrepeat for January was so fun. Mr. Erik Nelson, our SOAR Director, performed for us and our mascot, Archie, was present as we entered the school on the first Monday of 2020. All Falcons received blue or yellow beads, as well. We used Global School Play day as our #firstdayrepeat for February and OH, did we have so much fun! Scholars and staff, alike, experienced so much joy just being playful and silly throughout the day.

Finally, we celebrated our 100th day of school on Friday, Feb. 7. Our scholars counted to 100 in many different ways and took time to reflect on all we have learned in those 100 days.

Parent/Teacher Conferences are quickly approaching. All teachers have started scheduling. At Alexander, we expect to have 100% participation from all families. We can't do this alone and YOU are your child's first and most important teacher!

We appreciate all you do to support our school.

Thank you,

Chris Gibson, Principal

PTO Sponsored Pajama Story Time

Our traditional PTO sponsored Pajama Story Time was so fun! So many families came to our school library in their pajamas, heard stories from Alexander staff members, and enjoyed a cookie. It was fun to be together in our jammies!
