Champions de la Santé (Health Champions)
We will be following Archbishop Smith's recommendations to celebrate Valentine's day on February 13th to truly honour the importance of Ash Wednesday and the start of Lent. So we will be celebrating Shrove Tuesday, Carnaval and St. Valentine all on the same day.
Consider these healthier alternatives to sharing Valentine wishes to keep with our efforts of a healthy active school.
- Send out handwritten love notes
- Shrove Tuesday is the day before Ash Wednesday and is usually celebrated with eating pancakes—so host a pancake breakfast with heart-shaped flapjacks.
- Post quotes about love on social media to let people know you care
- Write words of encouragement in chalk on the sidewalks of your town (or on snow)
- Organize a service project to help those who don’t feel as loved in the community
