8th Grade Graduation

RSVP, payment, shirt size and photos are due by April 15th.

Please complete all items so we can order shirts, submit final numbers to both locations and plan for the ceremony.

We have received some payments without an RSVP through Parent Portal. Please be sure to RSVP!

As we approach spring, our 8th grade students begin to wind down their middle school

careers and anticipate their entry into high school. At AGCS we celebrate this transition

with an 8th grade graduation and dinner dance, both of which will take place on Friday,

June 3rd. The graduation ceremony will take place at Penns Grove Middle School in Oxford. The dinner dance for students will follow the graduation and is being held at Loch Nairn Golf Club in Avondale.

Payment and RSVP DUE BY April 15th, 2022

There is no cost to attend the graduation ceremony.

The cost per student for the dinner dance is $35.00.

Please complete the RSVP in the forms section of Parent Portal. The link for payment will be located within the form.

You will have 4 options:

• My student will attend the graduation ceremony only at Penn’s Grove MS. (no cost)

• My student will attend the dinner dance only at Loch Nairn Golf Club. (35.00)

• My student will attend both the graduation ceremony and dinner dance. ($35.00)

• My student will NOT attend either event.

EVENT TIMELINE:

Graduation Arrival/Line Up: 5:00 PM 301 S. Fifth Street Oxford, PA (doors will not open until 5:00)

Graduation Ceremony: 5:30PM

Graduation Conclusion: 6:30PM (approximate)

Dinner Dance Arrival: 7:00PM 514 McCue Road, Avondale PA

Dinner Dance Pick-Up: 9:30PM 514 McCue Road, Avondale PA - Please arrive on time for pickup

IMPORTANT NOTES:

• There is NO TRANSPORTATION provided from the graduation ceremony to the dinner dance. Each family is responsible for transporting their student(s) to the dinner dance at the conclusion of the graduation ceremony.

• The dress for the evening is semi-formal (please no jeans, sweatpants, t-shirts, etc.).

• Any 8th grade student who does not arrive to school by 11:00 AM on Friday June 3rd may not attend the graduation ceremony or the dinner dance as arriving after 11:00 AM is considered a full-day’s absence in the 2021-2022 parent/student handbook. Likewise, any early dismissals on June 3rd should be scheduled after 11:00 AM; an early dismissal prior to 11:00 AM will be considered a full day’s absence and prohibit the student from attending the graduation ceremony and dinner dance.

We need your help! As a part of our 8th grade graduation celebration, there will be a slideshow that features a Kindergarten-era photo of each student, along with their 8th grade yearbook portrait. Please complete this form, which includes a place to upload a photo of your child at age 5 or 6. It is extremely helpful to the organizers that we collect the photos in this way (vs. email) Please submit your photo, via the link below, by April 15th.
