Humble Beginnings
Galileo was born in the small town of Pisa, Italy on February, 15, 1564. The first of six children in his familia. he attended rigorous schooling and became a young master in physics and composing music. After many achievements in the scientific field, old Gal died on January 8, 1642
The Greatness
Considered to be "the father of modern astronomy" the Italian has had many accomplishments. Such as Improving the modern telescope, the conformation of "the phases of Venus" , and the discovery of the Galilean moons of Jupiter.
Challenges he faced
Of course as most scientists from Italy around his time period, The Catholic Church was impeding his progress in physics and astronomy. his Championing topic of Heliocentrism was very controversial at the time as well and not many scientist credited him.

Fun Facts
Galileo's middle finger is on display in the History science museum in Florence. side fact - the finger is pointing toward Rome He remained a devout Catholic until his death. in 1992 when a spacecraft named after the astronomer was launched, the catholic church renounced Galileo of any wrong doings.
