Awards
Chadwick has received multiple awards. Chadwick has won the Nobel Prize in Physics, the Hughes medal, Franklin medal, Copley medal, and the Faraday medal.
Birth and Death Date and Place
Chadwick was born on October 20th, 1891 in Bollington, United Kingdom and died on July 24th, 1974 in Cambridge, United Kingdom (82 years old at death).
Discovery
James Chadwick discovered the Neutron in an atom. He hypothesized that there was something in the atom that has the same mass as a proton, but was neutral in energy. He used Beryllium atoms and bombarded it with alpha particles. Then an unknown radiation began to happen. It had a neutral energy source and soon became the neutron.
