Have a Blessed Good Friday
CCS wishes you all a blessed Good Friday and a wonderful Easter.
Culpepper Receives Additional Certification
Mrs. Tricia Culpepper, CCPS principal, recently completed a Capstone project to obtain her PreK-3 leadership certification. This program was sponsored by the National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP). Mrs. Culpepper presented her project last week and is shown receiving her new certification. Congratulations Mrs. Culpepper!
CCS Presenters
Several CCS employees recently presented at the Alabama Association of School Business Officials (AASBO) Local School Financial Management Regional Conference. This conference is for school bookkeepers and finance staff. Technology Coordinator, Michael Fowlkes, shared information on productivity with Google tools. Aimee Bates, Technology Integration Specialist, presented Being Smart Online. Russell Raney, Chief Financial Officer, also presented training on bookkeeping software. Thanks to these CCS employees for representing our system and sharing your knowledge with others.
Ally Tour 2019 Stops in Cullman
CCS was host for a stop on the Ally Tour 2019. Ally is a web accessibility tool that our system uses to ensure that our websites are accessible for all users. We hosted educator's from Guntersville, Fort Payne, Morgan County, Birmingham and Florence. Our own web masters joined the training, as well.
John Scott, Community Manager for Blackboard Ally, kicks off the CCS Ally Tour day.
Sporting a little Blackboard Ally swag and looking forward to a bright future of being fully accessible in CCS.

The men's team joined in the Section awards! Congratulations on a Section Championship of their own!
Young at Art
Research definitely supports the importance of art education for our young students; for all of our students. These CCPS students are learning about Monet's lilies with Mrs. Wilson, CCPS art teacher. Impressive!
From Process to Mindset
These WES 5th graders are using the Engineering Design Process: Ask, Imagine, Plan, Create, Improve. They are shown creating a process to clean an oil spill. Very impressive ideas!
In the Spotlight
CMS students used mobile device lighting to create this beautiful setting in their piano lab as their classmate plays Fur Elise. The video was done for submission to famous pianist Lang Lang. He is creating a fan video that will contain people from all over the world playing Fur Elise. Hope we see ours in his video!
