State Licensed Child Care Centers
Each of our State Preschool classrooms are licensed child care centers. The core mission of the Child Care Licensing Program is to ensure the health and safety of children in care. The Child Care Licensing Program strives to provide preventive, protective, and quality services to children in care by ensuring that licensed facilities meet established health and safety standards through monitoring facilities, and providing technical assistance. All three of our classrooms have passed their unannounced annual random inspections for the 2019-20 school year.
A Licensing Program Analyst has inspected all three classrooms already and inspected the following:
1. General care of children present at the center.
2. The teacher-child ratio was in compliance with regulations.
3. Staff members have current pediatric CPR/First Aid certifications.
4. All required forms are posted in the classroom.
5. Staff and children's toilets and sinks are safe and in sanitary operating conditions.
6. Storage areas are clean and free of litter.
7. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, sharp objects and other similar items are stored inaccessible to children.
8. First aid kit is inaccessible to children.
9. Current menu is posted.
10. A functioning smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector and a fire extinguisher are located in the classroom.
11. Trash cans have tight fitting covers.
12. The outdoor areas are surrounded with appropriate fencing and not bodies of water.
13. All furniture, equipment and playground equipment is safe and in good condition, free of sharp, loose or pointed parts.
14. Shade is provided in the playground areas.
15. Documentation of fire drills was provided.
16. Outdoors water is provided via water fountains.
17. A resilient material such as rubber mulch is provided under the climbing structure.
18. All floors were clean and safe.
19. Children's files contained emergency information, medical assessments and pre-admission health history.
20. Personnel files documented the educational background, proof of mandated reporter training, and proof of immunizations for measles, pertussis and influenza.
As you can see the inspections are very thorough. CONGRATULATIONS to all Preschool staff for adhering to guidelines and monitoring EVERY STUDENT EVERY DAY!
Students work on learning the sounds and writing the letters of their name.
