Arts Magnet News!
August 22-26, 2022
Week 10, for Families and Community October 10-14, 2022
LGBTQ+ History Month
Dear Altadena Eliot Arts Families,
Along with Hispanic Heritage Month, 9/15-10/15, October is also LGBTQ+ History Month. As principals, we engaged in a fantastic professional development meeting on how best to support our students.
In other news, we are so excited to announce that Eliot Arts Magnet has been awarded a multimillion dollar federal magnet grant!!! This will enable us to expand the amazing arts program at Eliot Arts as we build our arts conservatory as well as strengthen our French Dual Language Immersion program with the addition of a French TOSA. I am also personally very excited for our AAM students who will be able to take advantage of a consistent and articulated arts and French program in middle school.
So many exciting things to come. If you have ideas to share, please do come to our next Design Team meeting on Saturday, January 21st at 9am in the Eliot Arts library.
Coming Up this Week:

Parent/Teacher Conference Day is Friday!
Friday, October 14th will be a pupil free day on both campuses. Teachers will schedule their conferences for this day. Middle School teachers will prioritize conference times for families of students who need extra academic support. It is our hope that these conferences will give teachers and families the opportunity to give students what they need to succeed academically. Teachers will be reaching out to individual student's families to set up conferences. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to your child’s teacher(s) via email.

On a personal note, my thanks to everyone at Eliot; Students,Teachers, Staff and Administration. The school year has been great so far. I keep my eyes and ears open and even with a few bumps, things have been going pretty good. Students are happy and learning, Nice job everyone! It takes all of us to make a great school.

What is PTSA?
The Parent, Teacher, Student Association (PTSA) is part of a national organization that engages and empowers families and communities to advocate for all children. At Altadena Eliot Arts Magnet, we support teachers and campus-wide projects and activities, give students, parents and guardians a voice and opportunities to improve the school environment, and work to improve the connection between our school, our families, and our community. Every student, parent, guardian, teacher, and staff person is invited to join PTSA. Members are encouraged but not required to attend three Association meetings during the school year; meetings and other activities are open to the entire school community.
Altadena Eliot Arts Membership Meetings for 2022-2023 are every 2nd Tuesday each month. Our first meeting will be held in the Eliot Library on September 13 at 6pm.
Step 1, join our PT(S)A membership! These parent groups are school advocates with a heart for service for our school! Anyone in the family can join, kids too! Join one, join both! Joining the PTA is simple.Log onto:
Annual Fund!
Please consider making a recurring donation of $45 to one or both of our Annual Funds! Our annual funds help to create a bridge for special services and arts programs at each of our campuses. Our annual funds are separate. Altadena's annual fund is chaired by Ms. Tasiah LeConte and Eliot's annual fund is chaired by Ms. Wendy Silva. Please join their committees and consider making a donation today!
