What is MRU?
MRU is our annual Mustang Round-Up carnival! This is our campus’ signature community
engagement event that strives to bring together our staff, students, and families in a day of
celebration and fun! It is also our largest fundraising event each year and is responsible for
bringing in the majority of PTA funding that helps support our campus initiatives.
When is it?
MRU is Saturday, April 1 from 12-4 pm at Menchaca Elementary, 1218 West FM 1626
Manchaca, TX 78652.

Who can attend?
Everyone is welcomed to join us for this fun family-friendly event (please no pets)! This
event is for families to attend together - childcare will not be provided.
Where do I park?
Parking is ONLY available across the street at the Menchaca Baptist Church, 1215 FM 1626,
Manchaca, TX 78652 . There will be multiple Austin ISD Police officers providing safe
crossing across FM 1626. Please only cross with an officer. *Please note that there is NO
parking anywhere on campus.
How much does it cost?
Admission is free for everyone. Children will need a wristband or tickets to participate in
carnival activities. Wristbands are $25 and single tickets are $1. These can be purchased at
www.menchacapta.org or on the day of the MRU event. A wristband will provide unlimited
access to rides, inflatables, and other activities. Or, you can purchase a pack of tickets for
$5, $10 and $20. Most attractions will cost between 2 and 4 tickets. Food trucks,concessions, and the Mustang spirit store will offer cash or credit cards.
*We strongly recommend that you purchase wristbands in advance of MRU to expedite the time you spend in line. We also strongly recommend that you bring cash for shorter wait times.
How can I help?
We are in need of donations of both water bottles and Gatorade cases. Please drop off
these items at our Menchaca campus front office. Thank you in advance for your help! .
What are the details about the MRU Raffle?
The Raffle features 4 prizes this year:
- 4 Austin FC Tickets
- Oculus Meta Quest V2
- Yeti Hardsided Cooler
- 1-night stay at the Kalahari Resort (a 2 bed-2 bath suite with waterpark passes for a family of 5)
Raffle tickets cost $5. All Menchaca students will be sent home with packets of tickets to sell on Monday, March 20th when we come back from Spring Break. Instructions are stapled to the manila envelope. If you have any questions please contact your room parent or student's teacher. Unsold raffle tickets and manila envelope must be returned to school.
All cash and checks along with raffle tickets should be returned to campus no later than Wednesday, March 29.
There will also be tickets available for purchase at MRU on Saturday the 1st.
The raffle will take place at 3:30pm and the winner does not have to be present to win.
